\n14 So He said, \u201cNo, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.\u201d
\nAnd Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, \u201cWhat does my Lord say to His servant?\u201d
\n15 Then the Commander of the LORD’S army said to Joshua, \u201cTake your sandal off your foot,\u00a0 for the place where you stand is holy.\u201d And Joshua did so. <\/em><\/p>\n
Had Jericho been in the will of God (and Israel out of the will of God) the angel would have been for Jericho.
\nHad Israel been in the will of God (and Jericho out of the will of God \u2013 which was the case) the angel would be for Israel.
\nHad both nations been in the will of God, there would have been no upcoming conflict, so there would simply be a condition of corporate blessing. It\u2019s called unity.
\nHad neither nation been in the will of God, there would likely have been bloodshed and violence (because that\u2019s how unrestrained people are), and an angel of the Lord would have favored neither nation.<\/p>\n
The angel at Jericho correctly responded to Joshua\u2019s A\/B question and said \u201cNO \u2013 I, like all the other angels remaining in the presence and favor of God, choose to be in alignment with God first, and then in alignment with the people who will align themselves with God.<\/p>\n
God is neither a Republican or a Democrat. God is holy. His purposes are holy. His angels are holy.<\/p>\n
Five times in Leviticus, God presented a \u201cbe holy\u201d commandment to His people, and Peter \u2013 after profoundly having revealed (1 Peter 1:10-14) that the OLD Testament was written for the NEW Testament saints, then confirmed that the “be holy” commandment is inarguably alive and well forever and at all times, including under the grace of the New Testament: God is neither a Republican or a Democrat. Americans find ourselves living inside a spiritual test-tube experiment called a \u201cdemocracy\u201d and\/or a \u201crepublic\u201d, and by design of those governmental structures, we (at least for now continue to) have a say in the future government of our nation.<\/p>\n First and foremost, we need to repent of our national sins \u2013 and btw woe to the spiritual leaders of our nation who fail to address and proclaim that most-timely truth. Read Daniel 9, it\u2019s a good place to start, and a great place to start praying accurately.<\/p>\n God meanwhile, in His mercy, understands the weakness of all mankind and promises things like this: It does come back to us as a nation coming back to Him, in repentance, and coming back to the place of holy fear of the One worthy of fear.<\/p>\n Again \u2013 a New Testament confirmation by our Lord: And while God is neither a Republican nor a Democrat, the scriptures (Kings, Chronicles, etc.) are replete with examples of God extending mercy if and when even imperfect leadership AT LEAST takes some effort to minimize the sins of the nation.<\/p>\n An important biblical point to note is that although all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, there are particular sins that the Lord has revealed to us as being abominations, a \u201chigher-level\u201d stench to His nostrils and particularly provocative in inciting the Lord to wrath. Demons are only finally destroyed when the Lord finally returns in flaming fire. The book of Revelation confirms that. The rest of the scriptures disclose national renaming and, \u201crebranding\u201d of particular demons during different seasons in the history of man. Those demons have rebranded themselves in our season. And they remain provocative abominations to our holy God.<\/p>\n Personally and being fully cognizant of many of the sins on both sides of our nation\u2019s political aisle, I am convicted and committed, as a follower of God, to cast my vote for a\u00a0 (granted, quite imperfect) political party that:<\/p>\n A. Supports and defends Israel <\/strong> B. Supports and defends the innocent and the unborn (FYI: half of all the unborn are female, and a disproportionate number of the murdered unborn are of color)<\/strong> C. Supports and defends the God-ordained genders of male and female.<\/strong> D. Supports and defends the God-ordained and declared holiness of marriage between two people, one of each gender.<\/strong> Anything a praying saint of the Lord might choose to align with that contradicts and wars against the holiness of the Lord and clear directives of His word, is a very poor choice, always with consequences.<\/p>\n 2 Chronicles 15:1<\/strong> – 16:14<\/strong> (v10-13 speak of the people coming into a good covenant and also describe harsh Old Testament ways of dealing with folks who would not serve the Lord. For the most part we have increasingly become a defiant and proud nation out of the purposes and plans of God, in fact and in truth (read the news) we are a covenant nation clearly under the thumb of the Lord\u2019s correction at this time of total global shaking.<\/p>\n

\nTHE CLEAN-UP AND THE BLESSING
\n8 And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the LORD that was before the vestibule of the LORD.
\n9 Then he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who dwelt with them from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon, for they came over to him in great numbers from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.<\/em><\/p>\n
\n15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him with all their soul; and He was found by them, and the LORD gave them rest all around.

\n17 But the high places were not removed from Israel. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was loyal all his days.<\/p>\n
\n18 He also brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated and that he himself had dedicated: silver and gold and utensils.<\/p>\n
\n19 And there was no war until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.<\/em><\/p>\n
\n2 Then Asa brought silver and gold from the treasuries of the house of the LORD and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben-Hadad king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,
\n3 \u201cLet there be a treaty between you and me, as there was between my father and your father. See, I have sent you silver and gold; come, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.\u201d
\n4 So Ben-Hadad heeded King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel. They attacked Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
\n5 Now it happened, when Baasha heard it, that he stopped building Ramah and ceased his work. <\/em><\/p>\n
\n6 Then King Asa took all Judah, and they carried away the stones and timber of Ramah, which Baasha had used for building; and with them he built Geba and Mizpah.<\/em><\/p>\n
\n7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him: \u201cBecause you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand.
\n8 Were the Ethiopians and the Lubim not a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, He delivered them into your hand.<\/p>\n
\n9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n10 Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in prison, for he was enraged at him because of this. And Asa oppressed some of the people at that time.<\/p>\n
\n11 Note that the acts of Asa, first and last, are indeed written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
\n12 And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his malady was severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but the physicians.
\n13 So Asa rested with his fathers; he died in the forty-first year of his reign. <\/em><\/p>\n
\nA seer from God is sent to king in Judah who had made some very poor choices.
\nThe message speaks of God\u2019s proactivity towards those who are loyal to Him, and also speaks of the increased troubles ascribed to those who live contrary to holy loyalty to God and His word. Sadly this brief story ends here with the Asa the king punishing the messenger. Not much has changed, over the years.
\nMake very good choices, saints. God watches His people.
\nThe future of America is at stake.
